The Beginning...

I believe we all have one. A friend who, no matter how young they are, seem perfectly 'put together' in all of their multi-tasking glory, who seems to have the many aspects of their life in perfect order, from their finances through to their interior design.

My friend Sophie is only 25 years yet, yet she has been married to her childhood sweetheart for several years now, has 2 Daughters who are always wearing perfectly put together outfits and loves in the perfect 4 bedroomed house on the beach. Her make-up is always immaculate, her home filled with beautifully thought out co-ordinated pieces and she successfully manages to juggle attending university full-time, training to be a teacher and being the perfect friend, Mother, Wife and Daughter.

Depressing, isn't it.

I am 2 years older than Sophie with a beautiful 5 year old named Chloe and have a fantastic partner, who I have been with for nearly 2 and 1/2 years now. I am currently studying psychology and counselling and am awaiting the start date of my new part-time job in telesales. I attempted volunteer work in a charity shop but with everything I do, there is always an end date, as I am just no good at seeing 'projects' through. My ambition and motivation burns brightly, yet I just don't seem to have the organisational skills, time-keeping skills and general 'savvy' to get all the aspects of my life to work in conjunction with each other.

If I was to break my life down into the different sectors of a pie chart, it would consist of the following things:

  • Wardrobe.
  • Interior Design.
  • Work.
  • Studying.
  • Beauty.
  • Health.
  • Children.
  • Money/Debt/Savings.
  • Friendships.
  • Family.
  • Love Life.
  • Social Life.
  • Mental Health.
  • Fitness.
  • Organisation.
  • Downtime.
  • Goals.

I am sure that there are more and this list shall be a work in progress (what's new there then!!) but at this stage, that seems to be all that life entails, broken down into pretty vague categories.

Now attempting to get all of these in perfect working order, once seeing all the categories wrote down is a pretty daunting task and one which the average 'Joe Bloggs' simply cannot do but using all of the Sophie's of the world as inspiration, I am going to attempt to do this.

I have read lifestyle blogs and to be honest, I have found them all rather daunting and I actually felt more pressurised afterwards, realising that I didn't have the skills these ladies (or men!!) had at DIY, baking and making the perfect home organisational folder.

This blog is starting with the very foundations of life and working my way upwards. I am going to document every single failure, flaw and disaster along the way on my journey to near perfection and, as such, I am hoping that it shall be relatable to all of you out there who are just like me; terrible with money, always resembling a ruffian being dragged through a hedge backwards, living on a diet of fish fingers and chips, making endless 'to do' lists (which never really go anywhere) and who is in dire need of a life coach but who just can't afford it.

Let the fun and games begin...
